Emerging shoegaze sensations Glixen, hailed as an idobi Radio Rising Artist To Listen To In 2024, have just unveiled their otherworldly and raw new single, “foreversoon.” Serving as their first release of the year, this track introduces listeners to Glixen‘s ethereal sonic realm as the four-piece prepares to embark on tour, kicking off with a support slot alongside Softcult later this month.

The track opens with a gritty, grunge-infused guitar riff, saturating the composition with its edgy energy. As the guitar progression culminates with the song’s crushing drum fills, vocalist/guitarist Aislinn Ritchie seizes command with her dreamy delivery to weave a medley of ‘90s-inspired sounds and inject listeners with a sense of modernized nostalgia.

“‘foreversoon’ represents blissful moments of new love and intimacy,” Ritchie shares. “The song harnesses melancholy chords, layered with fuzzy red melodies and gliding guitars that pull you in deeper. I wanted my lyrics to feel like a conversation that expresses my infatuation and sensuality. Time is relentless, and memories are fleeting, this song encapsulates those emotions forever.”

Next week, Glixen will hit the road, beginning with two headlining performances before joining an array of support slots alongside Softcult, Glitterer, fish narc, and Interpol. The group will also perform at Slide Away Festival, SXSW, and Southside Spillover in March. You can check out the four-piece’s full touring schedule below and get tickets here.
