My Chemical Romance‘s Gerard Way really can do it all. Beyond fronting the iconic alternative band, Way is also well-known for comic book writing, television producing, and now, he can add death metal vocalist to his resume, too. Today, the “Welcome To The Black Parade” vocalist traded in his soaring notes for gritty snarls as a feature on Frozen Soul‘s new track, “No Place Of Warmth.”
While this might be his heaviest offering to date, this is not Way’s first venture into the metal world. In 2022, the singer featured alongside Ibaraki, aka the side project of Trivium‘s Matt Heafy, for the track “Rōnin.”
Excitingly, if you love the guttural growls and face-melting riffs of Frozen Soul, “No Place Of Warmth” serves as the title track for the Texas death metal group’s forthcoming LP, due out May 8, via Century Media Records.
