When Fuel’s third CD, Natural Selection, comes out next Tuesday (September 23), it faces heavy competition that same day from new releases by Nickelback, Dave Matthews, and Limp Bizkit.
But Fuel guitarist and songwriter Carl Bell revealed that he’s confident about the quality of the band’s work on this album. “I think we just really went to raise the bar on this one,” Bell said. “We sat back and said, ‘All right, we’re not gonna rush this one through, let’s take our time and do this one right.’ And I think it shows. The record is, I think, far and beyond any of the other records we’ve had as a body of work.”
Also on September 23, Fuel will re-release their two previous albums, 1998’s Sunburn and 2000’s Something Like Human. The reissues will be expanded editions, featuring new artwork and hard-to-find bonus tracks. The million-selling Sunburn has been certified platinum, while Something Like Human has gone double platinum for sales of over two million copies.
The week of the album’s release, Fuel will play five free acoustic shows at Best Buy locations around the country. Fans who purchase Natural Selection at the events will also receive a free CD single containing the previously unreleased song, “On The Road Again.”
