SLOE JACK — “GENIE”
For fans of punch-the-wall attitude.
SLOE JACK is the coolest and most interesting artist on the come-up right now, no joke. If you’re not paying attention to him, you’re truly missing out on something badass. The Australian grunge-rock-rapper hybrid has taken the attitude of the legendary Beastie Boys and blended it with modern narratives and anthemic choruses. His craft and sound are timeless, something to be consumed and appreciated by spanning generations of punk-adjacent lovers. His latest effort, “GENIE,” is a culmination of the strongest and most unique parts of his catalog to date. SLOE JACK is an original talent we are sure to see rise to the top. —Tate Logan
Dying Wish — “I Brought You My Soul (Your World Brought Me Despair)”
For those needing more sick breakdowns in their lives.
Dying Wish‘s brand of no bullshit, in-your-face metalcore that’s pissed as fuck shines through fully on “I Brought You My Soul (Your World Brought Me Despair).” From the instantly crushing riffs and breakdowns to vocalist Emma Boster giving a standout performance with angelic, melodic highs and demonic screaming lows, this is Dying Wish at the top of their game. Simply put, this track is the best they have ever released. —Patrick Walford
All To Get Her — “Slow Dancing In The Dark”
For those who need a light.
All To Get Her is not only their band name but also their slow dancing in the dark to get her back. When someone is your light all the time and they leave it sucks because you’re stuck in the dark but that shouldnt keep you from dancing. This summery sounding track will take heart break and almost mend it but have you still feeling a little emo! By the time you see All To Get Her live, you’ll be singing “I’ve been slow dancing in the dark” in the sold-out crowd with all your new heartbroken best friends. —Fish
Taken By Tides — “Ghost Vibrations”
For those waiting on a call that will never come.
Taken By Tides turns the anticipation all the way up with their latest single, “Ghost Vibrations.” The release is a high-energy track about waiting on a life-changing message that just doesn’t happen. The track is about that weird feeling when you *swear* your phone just buzzed, but…nope…now? …no…nothing? That’s the heart of this song, and frontman Omar Martinez delivers it with a mix of frustration and nostalgic defiance. They will not be ignored, no matter what. “This new song takes the desperation I’ve been feeling and transforms it into something greater, tapping into what it felt like growing up,” shares frontman Omar Martinez. No tour dates have been announced yet, but fingers crossed, this song deserves to be heard live! —Sasha
RAUE — “Escape”
For anyone who finds wonder in dancing barefoot under the stars.
Cali duo RAUE is fusing grunge with the ethereal haze of shoegaze on their latest offering, “Escape.” Though just a duo, vocalist/guitarist Paige Kalenian and drummer Jax Huckle craft a sound so immersive that it feels like an entire ensemble unleashed in a tidal wave of emotion. Inspired by a poem Kalenian stumbled upon, “Escape” wrestles with the push and pull of grief. The song channels the delicate yet volatile dance between euphoria and devastation. It unfolds in reverb-drenched guitar lines stretching like restless ghosts and crashing drums that live between longing and surrender. “Escape” is featured on the pair’s forthcoming EP, too scared to explain. The collection drops on May 9. —Paige Owens
