The Foo Fighters will embark on an eight-city U.S. tour later this month, with each date scheduled to be announced as tickets go on sale. The Brandtidos trek, sponsored by Sirius Satellite Radio, comes in support of the group’s fourth album, “One by One,” due Oct. 22 from RCA. The only date confirmed so far is Oct. 22 in Los Angeles, but an Oct. 31 show in New York, dubbed the “Foos-Ball & Halloween Costume Party,” will be announced today (Oct. 7) by local radio station K-ROCK.
Sirius subscribers can get a jump on tickets before they go on sale to the general public. New subscribers will also receive a limited-edition live CD to be culled from the tour. Beginning Oct. 15, Sirius will offer “One by One” in its entirety a week prior to its actual street date. Later in the month, the station will feature other special programming including interviews with band members.
The new album’s first single, “All My Life,” is off to a quick start on Billboard’s rock airplay charts. It’s at No. 4 on the Modern Rock Tracks tally and No. 12 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart this week.
As previously reported, the Foos will on Oct. 26 play Neil Young’s annual Bridge School benefit outside San Francisco. A European tour begins Nov. 16 in Manchester, England, and wraps Dec. 9 in Amsterdam. Afterward, the group heads Down Under for the six-date Big Day Out tour, kicking off Jan. 17 in Auckland.
