ERRA explains, “‘i. the many names of god’ is the first in what we consider the trilogy of silence outlives the earth. The trilogy represents a distinct shift in tone from the previous songs on the record. We wanted the aesthetic of the tracklisting to persuade the feeling of that shift. The record transitions to a darker place at this point, and many names serve to take the heaviest moods expressed in the preceding tracks and visceralize them.”
