Will Eminem’s estranged ex-wife please show up?
That’s what a Michigan judge is demanding now that Kim Mathers has gone AWOL from two straight court appearances stemming from her June arrest for drug possession.
Macomb County Circuit Judge Edward Servitto issued a bench warrant for the former Mrs. Em after she failed to turn up for an arraignment on charges of unlawfully possessing two bags of cocaine in her Cadillac Escalade during a routine traffic stop.
The 28-year-old Mathers, who divorced her superstar rapper-hubby (real name: Marshall Mathers III) in 2001 after he wrote about killing her in his scathing song “Kim,” but kept his last name, was initially supposed to appear in court on Monday.
When her attorney, Michael Smith, called Servitto to say that his client would be unable to attend, the judge then rescheduled the arraignment for the following morning. But again, she failed to show.
According to her lawyer, Mathers has been under the weather.
“She plans on being in court later this week, she’s just been ill,” Smith said.
Unfortunately, such excuses haven’t gone over well with Servitto, who canceled Mathers’ $7,500 bond and put an all-points-bulletin out for her.
No word on Mathers’ current whereabouts, but if convicted on the charges, she could face up to four years in prison and a $25,000 fine.
That’s not all she has to worry about, however.
Authorities in nearby Warren, Michigan, have said they plan to arrest and charge Mathers by the end of the week with maintaining a drug den; this, after police busted a party at a hotel room she had rented where illegal drugs were found.
According to the Macomb Daily, officers responding to calls of a disturbance found Mathers chatting on her cell outside her room at the Candlewood Suites around 3 a.m. Upon entering her hotel room, they discovered several partygoers, some of whom were under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Officers also subdued another man with pepper spray when he allegedly tried to hide a small bag in his mouth and resisted arrest.
After lab tests came back showing some of the confiscated drugs to be Ecstasy and marijuana, police decided to charge Mathers with one count of running a drug house, a misdemeanor.
That charge carries up to two years in jail and a $25,000 fine.
Mathers has a seven-year-old daughter, Hailie Jade, with Eminem, and a second daughter with another man following her failed reconciliation attempt with the hip-hopster.
