Eminem Signs On For Another 'New' Tupac Album

It’s been nearly eight years since Tupac Shakur passed away but, remarkably, that hasn’t stopped “new” albums from emerging in the years since. This November, another new, posthumous Tupac album is scheduled for release – and this one will once again pair the legendary MC with another.

Spokespeople for both Interscope Records and Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, confirmed that the new, as-yet-untitled Tupac album will feature a new batch of the rapper’s previously unreleased verses put to beats by some of today’s big hip-hop producers – and that one of the beat-makers already signed up is none other than Eminem. Slim Shady has been spending considerable time in recent years honing his skills as a producer.

This won’t be the first time Em has collaborated with Tupac in absentia. On last year’s soundtrack to “Tupac Resurrection,” Eminem produced three songs, including the single, “Runnin’ (Dying to Live),” which also featured a posthumous verse from the Notorious B.I.G.

The new Tupac CD will be the seventh album of “lost” material released since his shooting death in September of 1996. (The MC released just four solo albums during his lifetime.) There were said to be dozens of hours of lyrics recorded and unreleased at the time of his passing. Afeni Shakur will once again be executive producer on the project, and she hopes to line up other big-name producers to contribute to the album.
