Rapper DMX is currently in Los Angeles shooting a video for the third single, “I Miss You,” from his platinum-plus fourth album, The Great Depression. The album is currently Number 30 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, while the most recent single, “Who We Be,” is currently Number 75 on the Hot 100 singles chart. The video for “I Miss You” will be directed by Chris Robinson and will feature R&B singer Faith Evans. The video will also include segments that are flashbacks of DMX’s interactions with his deceased grandmother.
In related news, DMX will release his new DVD, Angel, on December 18. The three-hour DVD is broken up into five segments and features never-before-seen backstage footage and one-on-one interviews. One DVD segment is a mini-movie, titled Angel, which features Mary J. Blige as a guardian angel. This segment is a re-enactment of DMX’s own rise from rags to riches.
