Carson Daly returns to radio to be syndicated on radio stations nationwide, beginning Monday, April 2.
Carson Daly, host and executive producer of MTV’s highest rated show, Total Request Live, will return to radio on Premiere Radio Networks on Monday, April 2nd. Carson Daly Most Requested will be a one-hour daily program featuring requested music from listeners. Daly began his career as an intern at KCMJ-Palm Springs and subsequently was promoted to producer of the station’s morning show. After Daly put in time for stations in four different cities, he landed one of the most coveted positions in radio – that of the early evening drive-time voice at KROQ-FM-Los Angeles.
Daly first appeared on MTV during the summer of 1997 as a “resident” on MTV’s Motel California program and became the full-time host of MTV Live for the 1997/1998 season. In 1998, Carson took on hosting responsibility for Total Request Live and in September 2000, became its executive producer. Since its launch, TRL has achieved record- breaking ratings success.
“I am really excited about getting back into radio – it’s where I began my career and music has always been my first love,” said Daly. “This program with Premiere Radio Networks reflects my music personality perfectly. To have the opportunity to work in both TV and radio in the music industry is amazing.”
“Carson Daly is the perfect individual to re-invent contemporary hit radio on a daily basis and one of the very few who is capable of drawing audiences in both contemporary hit and alternative radio formats,” said Kraig Kitchin, president and COO of Premiere Radio Networks.
