Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker arrives in theaters on December 20, 2019. There’s nothing that a non-expert can say about Star Wars except that with each new image release, every new piece of information about the upcoming film, or even just the mention of can be pretty exciting. The latest pictures from the movie are here to pique your interest around 2 weeks ahead of the availability of pre-sale tickets. No date has been announced for pre-sale tickets for the Christmas release but they usually go on sale around 60 days before the picture opens. For Star Wars fans it’s not so much “The Christmas Season” as it is “Rise of Skywalker season”.
If you’re curious about how Leia is appearing in the films after the death of the beautiful force of nature that was Carrie Fisher, she was added through a process called rotoscoping. Rotoscoping is different than a digitally rendered version of a person. Basically, the studio repurposed footage shot for The Force Awakens by removing the background then superimposing the images on a new background. In a movie with so many special effects and CGI, it’s really beautiful that they chose to share more of the living breathing Leia with fans who were so sad at Fisher’s passing. There are always critics of Star Wars movies but even the critics will see it in theaters. It’s Star Wars and that alone makes it worth being excited about.
