Kevin Smith surprised fans over the weekend with his announcement of the return of He-Man at PowerCon 2019. Smith said: “I’m Eternia-ly grateful to Mattel TV and Netflix for entrusting me with not only the secrets of Grayskull, but also their entire Universe. In Revelation, we pick up right where the classic era left off to tell an epic tale of what may be the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor! Brought to life with the most metal character designs Powerhouse Animation can contain in the frame, this is the Masters of the Universe story you always wanted to see as a kid!”.
Writers Marc Bernardin, Eric Carrasco, Tim Sheridan, and Diya Mishra join Kevin Smith, who is the showrunner for Masters of the Universe: Revelation, in covering unresolved storylines. While the graphic for the new show looks a bit darker than the original, Netflix seems to be keeping the iconic logo. Kevin Smith’s level of fandom will most likely keep the show pretty recognizable, so this is something to get excited about. Without a release date, it’s not time to put the milk on your cereal just yet. We’ll keep you updated about the return of this nostalgic Saturday morning classic.
