Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have been trekking across the States on their Fighting Oligarchy tour, offering hope and strength to those frustrated by the current Trump administration. In fact, the sold-out rallies have attracted tens of thousands of attendees. Better yet, alternative musicians have “opened” for the progressive speakers. On April 13, Dallon WeekesI DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME performed in Salt Lake City to 20,000+ watchers. Then, on April 12, Jeff Rosenstock, Indigo de Souza, Maggie Rogers, and more performed at the Los Angeles tour stop.

Last night, Sanders and AOC stopped in Nampa, Idaho to speak in front of a whopping 12,000+ attendees. Idaho natives Built To Spill shared their iconic indie rock sounds ahead of the speaking portion. They kicked off their seven-song set with “Fool’s Gold” and wrapped up with the beloved “Carry The Zero.” Check out the livestream below, and look out for upcoming Fighting Oligarchy tour stops here.

Of course, Sanders shared his sentiments and concerns with the massive crowd. He noted, “And the way we beat Trump is we develop an agenda that speaks to the needs of the working class of this country, not just the one percent.”

Notably, this is not the first time Sanders has received major support from the alternative music world. During his 2020 presidential run, Joyce Manor, The Strokes, Soccer Mommy, Lucy Dacus, and more showed up and showed out to open up his rallies. More recently, Sanders stopped at Coachella 2025 ahead of Clairo‘s set with Rep. Maxwell Frost.

He said, “Now you can turn away and you can ignore what goes on, but if you do that, you do it at your own peril. We need you to stand up to fight for justice. To fight for economic justice, social justice, and racial justice.” Check out the full speech below.
