Limp Bizkit lead singer Fred Durst is going to be the father of a baby boy, saying he wants to “carry out the Durst legacy.”
Durst said in a message posted Wednesday on the band’s Web site that the child’s mother is a Minnesota woman he met last year during the Anger Management Tour.
“It happens, you know, and I believe I need a boy to carry out the Durst legacy,” he said.
“It was not planned but is still a blessing. I’m not getting married or anything like that, but I am going to support the child.”
Durst, who already has a daughter named Adriana in Florida, said he plans to name the boy Dallas. The baby is due in late August or early September.
“So be happy for me if you can because life is full of surprises and Dallas is one,” he said.
The band’s latest album, “Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water,” has sold more than 5 million copies.
