No one in the Parx fandom had this on their bingo card: Waterparks frontman Awsten Knight has revealed the band was the victims of a targeted armed robbery just before kicking off their recent European tour—an incident that ultimately led to multiple suspects being arrested.

Knight opens the video saying, “Waterparks were the targets of an armed robbery on day zero of our Europe run that we just finished. Forgive me if this is scattered; I don’t have notes or anything, I’m just talking.”

According to Knight, the band’s Los Angeles storage unit was broken into by four armed individuals who stole and destroyed equipment. “Our tour manager got a call from LAPD to confirm our storage unit in Los Angeles—and they told us four people broke in with guns and took a bunch of our stuff. They broke the locks, loaded everything up, and even destroyed things, like a full piano from the Sneaking Out Of Heaven tour. Then they got greedy and came back two hours later… and that’s how they got caught—there was a real helicopter chase.”

He added that the situation took an even more serious turn as authorities uncovered the motive behind the crime. “The craziest part is that it turns out it was targeted. They were hired by someone. They admitted that to the police and still won’t say who. People are in real-life prison over this right now.”

Compounding the situation, Knight also shared that the band’s tour manager, Lucas, was forced to leave the run early due to a family emergency, leaving the group to navigate the remainder of the tour without their primary day-to-day support.

While much of the band’s primary touring gear was already overseas at the time, several recovered items were damaged. You can watch the full video here.
