Avril Lavigne’s “My World” DVD will premiere the day prior to its official Nov. 4 street date with screenings at AMC Theaters in 24 U.S. cities.
The artist will attend the premiere in New York, at the AMC Empire 25 Theaters in Times Square.
The DVD, from Arista Records and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, was recorded May 18 in Buffalo, N.Y., and features performances of 16 songs, including covers of Green Day’s “Basket Case” and Bob Dylan’s “Knocking on Heaven’s Door.” “My World” will also feature a behind-the-scenes featurette, five music videos and a six-song bonus audio CD that includes four unreleased tracks. Video clips for “Complicated,” “Sk8er Boi,” “I’m With You,” “Losing Grip” and “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” are also included in the package.
Other screenings of “My World” will be held in Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Boston, Houston, Detroit, Atlanta, Miami, Seattle, Phoenix, Minneapolis, San Diego, St. Louis, Baltimore, Tampa, Fla., Denver, Cleveland, San Francisco, Indianapolis, Orlando, Fla. and Kansas City, Mo.
Lavigne will join fellow Canadian Sarah McLachlan Nov. 4 for a concert in New York that will be broadcast five days later by women’s cable network Oxygen.
