Anberlin are almost ready to reveal their ninth studio album CURRENCY, due out November 11, via Equal Vision Records. But first, the quintet, helmed by Matty Mullins, has unleashed their new single, “GRAVITY.” Excitingly, this LP is the first one to feature Matty Mullins as the lead vocalist.
Mullins says of the single, “’GRAVITY’ is about coming to terms with the fact that our time here is limited and choosing to live in a way that leaves nothing unsaid and nothing undone. It wrestles with the weight of mortality, but ultimately finds peace in letting go of fear and embracing the people, moments, and purpose that matter most.”
He also shares of the LP, “The overall theme of CURRENCY is what happens after everything you built your identity on falls apart. It’s a journey through heartbreak, loss, addiction, shame, and the lies we tell ourselves. Instead of staying in the wreckage, it’s about finding the strength to face the truth, let go of what was killing you, and become someone new. I believe that healing doesn’t begin when the pain ends… it begins when you finally stop running from it.”
