Following the release of their debut single and music video for “Lifeline,” Pennsylvania rock outfit American Vanity is back with their second offering, “Poison In Your Cup.” And, perhaps in even more exciting news, the quartet revealed that their debut album 17, is set for arrival on July 17. You better get on board now, because this band is about to take off!
Of “Poison in Your Cup,” the band says, “This track addresses systems of influence, image, and power that rely on compliance and silence. The lyrics use theatrical and institutional imagery to reflect how corruption often hides behind performance and tradition. Sonically heavier and more confrontational, it represents the album’s turning point toward awareness.”
American Vanity adds of the LP, “This album explores what happens when connection becomes conditional and self-worth is tied to visibility, loyalty, or approval. Each song documents a different stage of realizing that staying accessible, agreeable, or available can quietly erode identity. Rather than opting out, the record confronts how to participate without losing yourself.”
