50 Cent and Good Charlotte will hit the stage to perform and P. Diddy, Ashanti, Kelly Clarkson and Tony Hawk will step up to the podium when the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards are handed out on August 28 in New York.
50 and Good Charlotte have joined Coldplay and Christina Aguilera on the roster of performers for the awards show, set to return to Radio City Music Hall this year. Meanwhile, Diddy, Ashanti, Clarkson and Hawk are among the first wave of presenters announced for the ceremony. Hilary Duff, Ludacris, Bam Margera, Redman, Evanescence, David Spade, Snoop Dogg, NBA rookie sensation LeBron James and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have also agreed to help hand out Moonmen at this year’s VMAs.
It’s already shaping up to be a busy night for 50, who heads into the ceremony with five nominations, including nods for Video of the Year, Best Male Video and Best Rap Video for his “In Da Club”. Good Charlotte will also take an armload of nominations into this year’s VMAs, as 50’s fellow performers are up for Best Group Video, Best Rock Video and Viewer’s Choice for their “Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous” clip.
