311 are about to get the remix treatment from underground / hip hop production team Teargas and Plateglass.
Teargas & Plateglass will add their signature dark ambient dub vibe to the track “Amber” and according to the duo, “take it very very down”.
Alternative rock act 311 formed in 1990 and by 1995 had sold 3 million copies of their “Blue” album. “Amber” is from their new album “From Chaos”.
Teargas and Plateglass are known for their series of remixes for a bizarre and disjointed list of artists who commissioned their services for a sound falling somewhere between the dope beats of DJ Shadow and the nihilism of the Blade Runner soundtrack. In addition to 311’s “Amber”, Teargas and Plateglass are contributing remixes for a broad array of artists including FELIX DA HOUSECAT’s “Madame Hollywood” from the Kittenz & Thee Glitz CD MAD CAPSULE MARKETS’ “All The Time In Sunny Beach” from the OSC DIS CD, TEFLON TEL AVIV’s “John Thomas on the Inside.” from the Fahrenheit Fair Enough CD and OBA FUNKE featuring ZAP MAMA “911” from the CosmoAfrique CD.
They have also recently contributed additional production and remixed TWEAKER f/ DAVID SYLVIAN “Linoleum” and TWEAKER f/ CRAIG WEDREN “Take Me Alive”.
The original Teargas & Plateglass track “Age of Dust” featuring COMMY will appear on the upcoming for Aftermath compilation CD which also includes tracks by Oakenfold, N.E.R.D. and Dilated Peoples. They are also contributing the track “When We Are Ignorant” featuring URSULA RUCKER to the Being Black compilation which also includes tracks by Blackalicious, Jazzy Jeff, Will.i.am from Black Eyed Peas, DJ Spooky, Rob Swift, Mystic and Bahamadia.
Teargas and Plateglass are currently finishing their forthcoming Age of Dust 12″, due this summer.
311 recently announced they will be going on tour with Jay Z, Mos Def, De La Soul and Hoobastank.
