Coinciding with the city of Fullerton, California’s burgeoning art community, The Slidebar has announced that it will host a unique evening celebrating the work of two of rock music’s most prolific contributors. Rock photographers Lisa Johnson and Tim Bramlette will be on hand Friday September 3rd, 2010 showcasing a collection of their incendiary photography. The two photographers will give patrons a chance to view some of their most important photographs and get the story behind the camera click.
Responsible for some of rock music’s most iconic images, Lisa Johnson has spent years crafting a reputation as one of the industry’s most important photographers. From Nirvana to Rage Against the Machine, from Smashing Pumpkins to the Cramps, Johnson’s photography has graced magazine covers, seminal album inserts, and now her own line of clothing in a collaborative effort with Hurley.
Time Bramlette has traveled the world capturing live images of some of music’s biggest names. Morrissey, Snoop Dogg, Radiohead, just to name a few. Along with an impressive resume, Bramlette remains a shining example in a community of photographers that aim to capture the moment in it’s most pristine state — not a lot of photo shopping going on here.
As part of the Fullerton Artwalk, September 3rd, will mark Slidebar’s first in a series of events happening on their first Friday of every month celebrating the artistic foundation rooted in rock ‘n’ roll.
