Youth Fountain Unveil New Album ‘Together In Lonesome’

Youth Fountain have made their return with a new full-length album Together In Lonesome. Establishing their place as one of pop-punk’s most emotive assets, their journey so far has been one of catharsis. From 2019’s Letters To Our Former Selves to 2021’s Keepsakes & Reminders, Tyler Zanon has poured his heart and soul into the project. The result is a safe space and solace for all who struggle, a reminder that they aren’t alone in their pursuit of peace. From heartbreak to anxiety-induced headaches, he covers all bases in the most crushing manner. And now, for the third time, we are baring all to the world.

Together In Lonesome is set for release on November 3 via Pure Noise Records. Tyler had this to say about its creation and where he had to go emotionally to produce it:

“Writing songs takes a lot out of me because of how much of myself I put into them. Even though it was hard revisiting some of this stuff, it goes to show you that a good song is a good song, no matter when it was written. Even if it was on the back burner, it can still shine when the time is right. Making this album has felt like closure in a really cool way. Whenever an album comes out, they’re not my songs anymore; they’re for other people to enjoy. It’s going to feel good once they’re out.”

The album’s artwork is a beautiful painting that reflects the title wonderfully. A log cabin sat in solitude, surrounded only by trees, flowers and clouds in the sky. It is a tranquil portrayal of being alone. Though the clouds and the trees have faces painted on them, with tears rolling from their eyes, which captures the togetherness of the situation. Even the log cabin is crying. It is sentimental beautiful, and effortlessly affecting.

The first taste of the record is also here in the form of “Fallen Short”. Sonically it represents a shift in the Youth Fountain sound, incorporating different textures of melody and emotion to the gripping formula. It is insanely catchy, gorgeously thoughtful and furiously gripping. The perfect jumping-off point into what may end up being the definitive era for Youth Fountain.

Tyler had this to say about it:

“’Fallen Short’ is written about the struggles of trying to find my forever person and the challenges of changing relationships. This was a track that Anton DeLost had written instrumentally, and I threw my lyrics and vocal melodies over the song, and it came together pretty fast. It’s a very different vibe from regular Youth Fountain. Some different influences for sure you can hear through this one. Sometimes a change is needed to keep things fresh, and this song definitely shows it.”
