‘you were good to me’: Chloe Lilac’s Notes on Her Mixtape

This mixtape is all about losing the people you love most. Whether that’s losing a best friend, losing a romantic partner, or losing yourself. It can be hard to let go when people come in and out of your life, you could feel betrayed, you could feel heartbreak, you could feel anger, but at the end of the day, it all comes back to love.

“lily’s backyard”

lily’s backyard is about betrayal in a friendship i had. Anger masking sadness which you can hear in the bridge.

This is one of the first times I performed lily’s backyard!

“how does your girlfriend feel about it”

how does your girlfriend feel about it is about a situation where somebody was dishonest with me. the lyrics i feel are pretty self explanatory if you want the story.

—?!—
This photo is from the day my roommates and one of my best friends, Alex, (the guy in the pic) made a tik tok for how does your girlfriend feel about it! Whenever I see these pictures they remind me of the song for some reason.

“last week”

last week is about watching a close friend of mine grieve. watching someone you love dearly hurt like that can be tough, especially when there’s nothing you can do about it.

—♥—
This was the day we wrote last week!! There’s Cam (who helped write and produce it) playing the main acoustic guitar part and Jordan (other guy producing)!! Jordan’s dog, Backpack, was hanging out on my lap the whole day!

“only love song”

only love song is a love letter to younger me. It’s a lot about my journey with self love.

L photo: Only love song was written for little me! There she is!
R photo: Only love song is all about self love!! This is me and my childhood best friend in January on tour enjoying the view!
