Wilmette Announce New Album ‘Hyperfocused’

Wilmette have been building up to this moment for a while now. They’ve teased at the fact that they had a new full-length album under their belts, ready and waiting to be released to the world. Well, the time for waiting is over, and the Illinois pop-punk heroes are revealing all.

They’ve shared that their new album will be called Hyperfocused and will be released on August 4th via Mutant League Records. It will serve as the follow-up to their 2020 self-titled EP and was produced by Seth Henderson.

If that wasn’t enough, they’ve also shared the title track of the record. That’s “Hyperfocused”, and it is as quintessential a pop-punk ass-beater as you’re ever going to find. With uplifting chords, infectious melodies and all of the sing-along potential in the world, it’s an absolute beauty that shows everything that makes Wilmette so great.

Guitarist Griffin Guge had this to say about it:

“This track is about running the fine line between pursuing your own personal goals/interests and what others expect from you. It’s important to learn how to compromise with both of those things without letting either side get sabotaged. There’s always multiple perspectives with countless experiences to back them up. Hyperfocused is about pursuing your own personal growth without destroying the growth of others.”

You can also hear the previously released “Playing Dead” right now as well:
