Bringing their own unique blend of glam emo to the When We Were Young Fest stage, Thirty Seconds To Mars surprised fans with not one special guest performer but two! The group performed their single “Stuck” with electronic dance music maestro Steve Aoki. Still, they also treated the crowd to a breathtaking rendition of “The Kill” alongside rising alternative rock artist KennyHoopla.
Their performance of “Stuck” with Aoki was an electrifying display of genre fusion. The stage came alive with Aoki’s pulsating beats, while band leader Jared Leto‘s charismatic stage presence and powerful vocals kept the energy levels high at the festival.
Then came the unexpected but brilliant performance of “The Kill” with KennyHoopla. While fans certainly anticipated the band to bring “The Kill” to the stage, no one was ready for Kenny to step out and assist the Leto brothers. This version breathed a new life into the beloved track, one generation of alternative rockers passing the torch to the new regime, if you will. The crowd roared in approval as confetti flooded around the stage.

More on Thirty Seconds To Mars
Thirty Seconds To Mars have just recently released their brand new album, It’s the End Of The World But It’s A Beautiful Day. Their latest accomplishment to feature the Leto brothers, Jared and Shannon, is the poppiest release from the band to date. Taking the atmosphere and intensity of their previous work and pushing it through a modern lens, the result is some of the catchiest and most ethereal work of their career. From the low-key intensity of “Stuck” to the life-affirming joy of “Life Is Beautiful,” it finds the duo in fine and harmonious voice.
Alongside their appearance at When We Were Young, the band has popped up at Austin City Limits and iHeart Radio Festival over the last month. They will be seeing out their festival appearances next month in Mexico at Corona Capital.
