talker wants you to understand that she’s “Old Enough” in her latest single. The new track is off her upcoming debut album, I’m Telling You The Truth, out on June 21. Her consistency with tapping into a newly minted vintage take on pop-rock continues to land her the nomination of “most likely to be a rockstar” in her high school yearbook.
The introduction to the song taps into a synthy vibe to introduce talker’s Celeste Tauchar bubble-gum sweet vocals. She begins to establish a normal, picturesque scene of friendship that begins to wind down into instability as the chorus hits. “When will I be old enough/To tell you I can’t be everything that you need/This feels like we’re growing up,” stabs the high-energy soundscape to bring the listener back to reality to face the hard truth that sometimes relationships aren’t always long-lasting.

While loaded with difficult lessons baked into every crevice, once the tune ends, it’s difficult not to want to press repeat. Its infectious influence of elevated alt-pop rendition remedies simpler times by nicely tapping you on the shoulder once it wraps to bring you back to the “real world.”
Taucher routinely explores different themes about different types of characters in past singles off of her upcoming LP. “There are a lot of complicated variables,” she says. ”This album forced me to unpack a lot of dynamics and face people in my life that I avoided before because I knew that I couldn’t get around them hearing the song.” Taucher explains that crafting the album overall has allowed her to find herself more as an individual while having these difficult realizations.
“There are some things still to be revealed through these songs and some things I’m still figuring out how best to approach, but I know that I have the capacity and am doing the work that I was afraid to do until now.”
With this latest release, partnered with talker’s previous songs, the assumption that this will be a staple album to regenerate the alt-pop scene is safely accepted. Fans can check out the other singles from the album and the tracklisting below.
