Just days after celebrating the 19 year anniversary of their sophomore album Discovering The Waterfront, Silverstein has released their new single, “Skin & Bones.” The new track is the band’s first release since their January 2024 collaboration with Fairlane on “Take It Back.”
“‘Skin & Bones’ is a deeply emotional song, written about the sudden loss of a person who was once very close to me,” vocalist Shane Told shares. “Every day, we’re stuck in our own heads worrying about trivial things and never thinking about just how fragile we are. Life can be gone in an instant. I lost one of the greatest people I ever knew.”
Recording in the vast expanse of Joshua Tree amid the desert’s stark isolation provided a fresh slate for the band. Told continues, “Without external distractions, I found myself turning my attention inward. How did I really feel? What did I really want to say about it? And once I found that the performance just poured out of me. Talking, singing, yelling, screaming…it’s all raw emotion in this track.”
“‘Skin & Bones’ is packed with heavy emotions and is the first glimpse of what formed in those sessions,” drummer Paul Koehler adds.

“Skin & Bones” erupts with a guttural growl, propelling the track into a thunderous opening verse before easing into a soaring, anthemic chorus. The song then plunges back into a maelstrom of intense instrumentation, perfectly capturing Silverstein‘s nostalgic post-hardcore sound.
