Ryan Oakes Celebrates His Favorite Shoe On “CHUCK TAYLORS”

Ryan Oakes is continuing to be one of the busiest artists in the scene right now. Now he’s with the releasing another new track “CHUCK TAYLORS“. When we say busy, we mean that Ryan has been dropping banger after banger consistently throughout 2023. It was all initially leading up to the release of his album WAKE UP. Featuring collaborations with Loveless, Magnolia Park and AViVA, it’s an absolute friends fest. Yet he hasn’t stopped there. Since the album dropped, there’s also been “COME AROUND AND FIND OUT“, “STILL NUMB“, and “2L8 UNDEAD“, which featured Hollywood Undead. It’s a building discography full of attitude, character and style, and it’s getting even bigger right now.

CHUCK TAYLORS” is, first and foremost, a tribute to a legendary pair of shoes. The Converse Chuck Taylor, named after the Akron Firestones basketball player who join the company back in 1921 and revolutionized the silhouette, they have become a staple of alternative culture ever since. The fit, the shape, the color, they are all iconic, and Ryan knows this. Which is why he shouts them out so often in this hip-hop/rock crossover. Though, as an extension, this is a song about not holding back in who you are. Showing up those who doubt you and not allowing them to get away with their slander. So if anyone is going to disrespect you, just make sure the last thing they see is your Chuck heading towards their face.

The thing that stands out the most when it comes to what Ryan Oakes does is how unapologetic everything is. No stone is left unturned, and no hater is allowed to escape. Showing off his love for alternative music in all of its forms whilst pushing the walls of what is possible, it’s an incredibly exciting time for him as we look to the future.
