Rise Rock n’ Shine: Karma Kids + The Parallel

Coffee in your cup, music in your ears,

it’s time to Rise Rock n’ Shine…

Who: Karma Kids hasn’t been a band for very long but they already have a rock solid vision in place. They’ve branded themselves as “emocore” and went to work on dropping a two part album. The second half hits shelves this Friday, so if you’re not paying attention yet you probably should be.

What: Karma Kids brought in industry veteran Jaret Reddick (Bowling For Soup, The Rockstar Dad Show) to take their new single “Matrix” to a whole other dimension.

Why: At just over two minutes long, “Matrix” is a short and sweet offering that gets heavier with every note. The track feels like anticipation—like that moment before the lights go down at a show and your favorite band finally takes the stage.

“We wanted to choose a lead single with some familiarity, so we chose to first release ‘Matrix’. We have scene alumni Jaret Reddick from Bowling for Soup sharing vocals on this short but sweet track. We’ve received some awesome reception so far from ‘Matrix’ and can’t wait to hear what you think! ‘Matrix’ comes from Dystopian Dream Part Two: Land of the Free, available April 17.” – Karma Kids

Who: In 2018, The Parallel introduced themselves. After dropping a Billboard charting collection, they went back to work on refining their sound. We hear the result on their first single from their forthcoming album.

What: Speaking of that single, it’s about time you heard it. Dig into “Who I’ve Become”.

Why: Sometimes you gotta get down to a good metal track… but what if you wanna sing along too? “Who I’ve Become” meets you in the middle. It’ll soundtrack a killer headbanging session AND hairbrush karaoke, so enjoy it how you want to.

“‘Who I’ve Become’ is the next step in the sonic evolution of The Parallel. This track focuses lyrically around the topics of internal trial & error; the understanding that it’s okay to feel anxious and show your emotions, and that it’s okay to stand up for yourself in circumstances you don’t feel like you deserve. ‘Who I’ve Become’ holds a heavy progressive edge and pop-style chorus, while simultaneously maintaining The Parallel’s unique sound and style. We hope this song has your head bobbing for days, as its our favorite track yet!” – Ron Totman, drummer & vocalist for The Parallel
