Fresh coffee and fresher music,
it’s time to Rise Rock n’ Shine…
Who: Not quite pop punk and not quite pop rock, Donaher is power pop all the way. The New England based band came to rock and they’re pretty good at accomplishing their goals.
What: The group’s first track since 2017’s I Swear My Love Is True, dig into “Before Anyone Else”.
Why: With The Jetsons-esque cover art, “Before Anyone Else” really does blast you into a nostalgic place where the guitars are heavy and the beats are easy to nod along to. It’s the perfect love song to send to your bae if you also wanna show off your sweet, sweet music taste.

“‘Before Anyone Else’ is our first new single since releasing our 2017 debut, I Swear My Love Is True. We recorded a new batch of songs throughout 2019 and felt this track is a good reintroduction to Donaher or the perfect ear worm if you’re just discovering the band. The melody in the chorus came to me at a tour stop in Chicago last year. Being fans of bands from that scene, like Smoking Popes and Alkaline Trio, I saw it as a sign and finished writing it in New England. Our new songs were produced by Gary Cioffi who has worked with bands like Transit, A Will Away, and Four Year Strong. We’re excited for you to hear this new single, find a home for our new record, and would love to see you on our tour this fall.” – Nick Lavallee, vocalist and guitarist for Donaher

Who: Seattle’s Subways On The Sun is an indie rock delight that you should definitely be keeping an eye on.
What: The title track from the band’s latest EP just got a new look. Meet “Capsize (Acoustic)”.
Why: The stripped back instrumentals in “Capsize (Acoustic)” are beautiful in their simplicity. The song lets you take a step back and simply exist in a world that’s always demanding more.

“We love listening to alternate versions of songs by our favorite artists and thought that ‘Capsize’ would be a fun track to approach from a different angle. As a band, we have always embraced a DIY approach to recording but typically outsource the mixing duties. This time our lead guitarist Lars stepped up to mix the track, which allowed us to fully reimagine the song as a group.” – Subways On The Sun
