The Chicago quintet creates a wall of sound on their latest material as they incorporate their throwback punky hooks with electronic elements, trap beats, and hints of hardcore. There’s no reason why this should sound so great. But with the odds stacked against them, Belmont finds a way to barrel through any notion of a ‘sophomore slump’—they’re simply a band you shouldn’t miss.

The past few years haven’t been easy for any band but UK metalcore group Overthrone is thriving amidst the chaos. They just recently played their first show in two years, all while juggling a brand new vocalist with new songs on top of it. The fresh voice adds an extra layer to the band—they’ve said themselves that it’s given them a new lease on life. You can hear it through the few tunes they’ve released recently, packing a punch in every riff that’s shredded and every line that’s screamed. Equal parts melodic and savage, Overthrone has it all.

Signals Midwest have seen the world—they’ll be joining A Wilhelm Scream on their upcoming Europe tour—but according to them, they’ll still play in your kitchen. That’s what this punk-indie band is all about; being the rock veterans they are, blasting big-spirited melodies while still keeping those DIY ethos. It makes for an authentic as hell brand of jubilant rock, made evident by cuts off their upcoming April album. There’s no doubt that it’ll be worth your time.

‘Going viral on TikTok’ is not a personality trait. Sorry Mom proves that. The femme-punk ‘riot grrrl’ revivalists found unexpected success via the social platform with their thrashy anthem, “I F**** Yr Mom”, but that’s only the start of the excellent songs they have to offer. 2022 is a new chapter for Sorry Mom as they continue to build on what made last year such a success. Their music goes full-throttle, and everyone needs to come along for the ride.
