poptropicaslutz! has released their new track, “Lovers In Arms,” via Epitaph Records, which they describe as their “most artistically complete song.” The group takes a more low-key direction on this single, yet it still harnesses their intense energy through pointed lyrics plus a mix of rap and pop-rock. The song will appear on their deluxe album, Face For The Radio: Voice For A Silent Film, which comes out on May 10.

“When you command the truth/You deny your troops/I won’t lie/I Do mourn my time with you,” the chorus reverberates. A motif of soldiers and all that they utilize is consistent throughout the song, creating an impactful display of emotions, both love lost and long-distance heartbreak, through a rough realization that even with all the ammo, there will be no homecoming reunion.
On the forthcoming release, which will include six additional songs alongside the original album tracklist, the duo says the title is about more than an old phrase: “Having a ‘face for the radio’ has historically described those better fit for something else.” They continue, “Those set up for success, but not in their own lane. At times, that’s been us, but not anymore.”
They added in a social media announcement, “Voice For A Silent Film (Deluxe Album) May 10. An extension, yet something entirely new—made possible all thanks to you. 2024 feels promising.”
In a previous interview with idobi Radio’s Tate Logan last year, poptropicaslutz! explained that their unique music style for their 2023 album, Face For The Radio, is based on not wanting to limit themselves. “We didn’t want to make a project with one singular style, but rather an amalgamation of everything we do best.”
