Poppy has been an internet phenomenon for nearly 8 years. When she first began to release music, she had the persona of a robot of sorts. When interviewers tried to get her to break, she held on strong.
Since then, she’s broken away from that a bit. Not leaving her unique art behind, but being more vulnerable about what that art is trying to say. With that, her music has evolved as well. We’ve seen her cover everything from true pop music to metal. In fact, she was the first woman to win a Grammy for Best Metal Performance.
Now it’s time for a new single, and a new chapter for the artist. Six weeks ago she posted a teaser with the caption, “this is my church outfit”. Now she’s confirmed that the new single will be released on April 4th.
It hasn’t been too long since we last year from Poppy. She dropped her last EP in October. However, Poppy has done an incredible job being diverse and keeping her music fresh. Her talent knows no limits and her evolution keeps us all guessing. Now we can buckle up and see what she has for us next.
