Oli Sykes, best known for his work with Bring Me The Horizon, is an artist that collaborates without boundary. blackbear is exactly the same. Popping up wherever their passions take them, the result is a set of discographies that are spread across the whole musical spectrum. And the latest addition to both of their stories is a link-up with electronic duo SLANDER.
SLANDER have previously worked with other alternative scene staples. There’s “Anywhere” featuring shYbeast, the moniker of I See Stars’ Devin Oliver. There’s “Picture” with Said The Sky and then there’s “Walk On Water” with RØRY. All bridging the gap between the expansiveness of electronic music and the emotional depth of rock and emo, they are a pair who are not afraid of a challenge.
This new track is called “Wish I Could Forget”, a slow-burning, savage piece of atmospheric EDM. Telling the story of a romance gone astray, it’s a call for all those who want to burn the bad memories out of their minds. Putting in their emotional best, both Oli and blackbear deliver scintillating performances, whilst SLANDER add all of the crackling depth needed to take the track to another level.
