NOAHFINNCE Reckons “I Know Better” On New Track

NOAHFINNCE is the sort of artist who only comes along once in a generation. A voice that is as violently fun as it is vulnerable, their journey so far has been as terrific as it therapeutic. Continuing to work closely with Hopeless Records, they have just released their first solo music of 2023, and it is yet another belter.

It’s called “I Know Better” and is a grunge-soaked piece of pop-punk fury. Full of the same sort of wit and wisdom as his previous output, but with an extra layer of darkness added for good measure, it’s violently fun but also fiercely vulnerable. Speaking about how it feels to know you are heading for a breakdown but seemingly not doing anything about it, it’s a relatable situation presented in a way that you wouldn’t expect.

Noah had this to say about it:

I Know Better is about feeling yourself falling into unhealthy coping mechanisms and heading towards a breakdown but not having the motivation to stop yourself. I wrote the first half of the song when I could feel my mental health getting worse and worse and I finished the song after the inevitable breakdown.

“It was interesting to finish the song with a new perspective and see how self-aware but also self-destructive I was being. It was a very unique experience trying to get back into the headspace of anticipating a breakdown when you’ve only just managed to get out of it.

I’d definitely say this song is a slight sneak peak of what’s to come. The song has the same angst and sarcasm as my old stuff but with a darker sound.”

Though it’s the first piece of music that NOAHFINNCE has released on their own this year, they have also been collaborating.

Here’s “No Point Pretending” written with Bears In Trees specially for the tour that the pair did together. Here’s how it sounds:
