News Flashes 10.20.22: PVRIS is Back, A New Version of “Face Down”, and Knuckle Puck’s New Single

Today we talk about PVRIS’ giant gift to us all, “Face Down” getting revamped, and Knuckle Puck’s new single.

PVRIS is Back

We love it when one of our faves drops one new single. So when they drop TWO new singles, we want to lose our minds. That brings us to our current emotional state now that PVRIS has given us “Anywhere But Here” & “Animal”. As if that isn’t enough, there’s a short film to go along with the tracks.

The artist herself, Lyndsey Gunnulfsen said, “At its core, “ANYWHERE BUT HERE” is about wanting to escape your surroundings. My whole life I’ve always found myself restless and eager to be somewhere else. I always imagine existing in different times and different places; everywhere and anywhere but where I am in the moment, even the good moments. I think a lot of us experience that to some degree, a longing to be somewhere or with someone you can’t necessarily identify.” She went on to say, ““Animal” is all about defiance, breaking free of control whether it’s from other people, or from ourselves. It can even be looked at through a wider lens and interpreted as defiance towards “the man”, government, or the algorithms that run our lives, that “know us”. It’s about challenging the identity the outside world chooses to give you. It’s also a comment on fame and spectacle.”

PVRIS is hitting the stage at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on October 27th. Their show may be sold out but you can listen to both new singles here and watch the short film below!

“Face Down” Has a Revival

Sometimes we love something so much that it calls for a revival years after it was created. That’s what’s happening with Red Jumpsuit Apparatus‘ “Face Down”. The song meant so much to so many people when it was originally released in 2006 that it holds a special level of nostalgia. The band has heard our cries and is dropping a new version of the song tomorrow, along with “Face Down (Symphonic Edition)”. If you are lucky enough to be attending When We Were Young this weekend, the band will be performing the old/new song live during their set! Take a moment and run right over here to pre-save the track.

Knuckle Puck is all about dropping news today. They announced on their social media that they have a new song, a new label, and a new chapter. Their new song is “Groundhog Day” and we love it enough to listen to it over and over again. Their new label is none other than Pure Noise. They also promised an LP next year (which is only a few months away, in case it was sounding too long from now). Knuckle Puck is also lined up to perform at next year’s killer When We Were Young Festival. They are out there killing the game and getting better with every new song. When a band with so much talent is having a good time, we’re having a good time. Check out the single below!
