The time for ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ is almost upon us, and while we prepare with reruns of the original, new details of the sequel are slowly being revealed. While Danny Elfman is known as the composer for the film, it’s come to our attention that My Chemical Romance and blink-182 could also be featured in the movie’s soundtrack.
Warner Bros. announced the release date for the film in March and att the time, details about the release were scarce. It was confirmed that Michael Keaton will resurrect his role as the Beetlejuice and Winona Ryder will reprise her role as Lydia Deetz. With Tim Burton returning to the director’s chair, and Jenna Ortega starring as Lydia’s daughter, Astrid Deetz, ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ will surely live up to the original.

Per the sequel’s IMBd page, the members of blink-182 and My Chemical Romance were all included in the soundtrack’s production. Travis Barker played drums, Tom Delonge was first violin and Mark Hoppus contributed on bass. Frank Iero is credited on the bassoon, and Gerard Way on the piano. Meanwhile, Mikey Way on bass, and Ray Toro, also on the first violin.
Some believe the individual credits could mean the bands will be featured in their respective collectives. We aren’t so sure as none of them were listed as singers. Though it’s a little disappointing that there are no vocal credits given, we aren’t ruling anything out just yet.
In a since-deleted post made by film composer Mark Barnes on Instagram, the collaboration between him, Danny Elfman, and My Chemical Romance was confirmed. Calling it a “beyond epic masterpiece”, we are absolutely shaking to hear it.
‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ is being produced by Brad Pitt‘s Plan B production company, with Mike Vukadinovich penning the screenplay. The movie premieres at the Venice Film Festival tomorrow August 28, and hits theaters on September 6. We will soon know how involved My Chemical Romance and blink-182 are. For now, we will just dream that each band has its own songs on the soundtrack and hope it becomes a reality.
