MOD SUN Releases New Music Video for “Karma”

Earlier this afternoon, MOD SUN released the music video for his latest single, “Karma.” The video was directed by his long time friend and collaborator, Colson Baker (Machine Gun Kelly), in a refreshing role reversal for the duo. MOD explains, “Kells and I reversed roles this time, because I have directed several of his videos so he directed this one.” Trusting his friend to really capture the vibe, MOD “had no idea what the video was going to be like until [he] watched it back and then realized his concept was brilliant and he figured out how to capture the most authentic [MOD]. The video feels timeless.”

The video harkens back to the nostalgia of the early 2000’s. A blissful time filled with baggy jeans and rebel anthems. With the lyrics, “I hope you choke on every lie you said to me. I hope you move out of this city suddenly. I hope you get everything you deserve. Karma’s a bitch I heard,” this tune is perfect for blasting in the car on the way home after dealing with people who suck. And when the crowd cheers, “what goes around,” you’re instantly transported to a cathartic party with all your friends who decidedly do not suck. Or as MOD puts it: “This is a song you can send to anyone who ever made fun of you in high school.”

The visuals are bright, vibrant, and fun while still maintaining a punk vibe. MOD even took a risk and played drums on the track and in the video for the first time in his career. Of course, the performance wasn’t without a little blood. Around the 2:15 mark, you see the artist show off a battle wound on his finger, tend to it with full badassery, and he keeps it moving! As for the ending, well…let’s just say that karma really does come around.
