Your New Music Friday playlists are in for a treat! Marianas Trench has surprise-dropped another single, “Down To You,” from their forthcoming LP Haven, due out on August 30 via 604 Records and Warner Music Canada. Talk about a band that’ll keep you on your toes!
Preceded by tracks “Lightning And Thunder,” “A Normal Life,” and “I’m Not Getting Better,” “Down To You” is an electrifying song with soaring falsetto, cinematic sonics, and more.
“And everything all come down to you/I just don’t work, not without you/I twist and turn, all around you/And in the end, it all comes down to you,” vocalist Josh Ramsay sings. Check out the surprise track below.
Regarding the inspiration behind Haven, Ramsay shares, “The more of a deep dive I did into the book [Joseph Campbell’s The Hero’s Journey], the more I was in awe of how much it applied to every story.”
“Haven—a shelter from the storm. You’ll be safe here,” lead guitarist Matt Webb adds about the album. “This is what a year and a half of blood, sweat, tears, and untrimmed facial hair sounds like. We set out to make this record with the goal of one-upping ourselves; to push the sonic envelope while incorporating a lifetime of inspiration and the high gain, high energy, unfiltered and unapologetic Marianas sound that put us on the map, so long ago.”

He continues, “We have grown so much during the making of this record, yet together in a room, creating and listening to music, we go backwards. We feel (and act) just like kids. Life is blissful and turbulent, but when we are together, it’s safe. It’s Haven. We hope you hear and feel it the same way we do.”
Marianas Trench is scheduled to embark on a massive tour later this year with rotating support from Grayscale, Piao, Cassadee Pope, and girlfriends. You can check out the band’s upcoming tour schedule below and purchase tickets here.
