Magnolia Park IS goofy. After starting to tease their team-up with Disney for the A Whole New Sound pop-punk album earlier this week, Magnolia Park and the Mouse House have released their cover of “I2I” from the 1995 classic A Goofy Movie. Their cover marks the second preview of A Whole New Sound, which does not currently have a release date.
“‘I2I’ is a huge part of black history and inspired all of us as kids to make music,” Magnolia Park shares. “The message of the song of all of us coming together is something we all stand by.”
No one—and I say this with my full chest—no one could do justice to Powerline’s “I2I” better than Magnolia Park. Joshua Roberts‘ vocals not only soar but also bring a unique depth and energy to the song. The instrumentation is a masterful blend of grandeur and playfulness, perfectly capturing the spirit of the original while adding a rock ‘n’ roll twist. Magnolia Park‘s rendition of “I2I” is a triumphant homage that both honors and elevates the iconic track.
