After teasing her new track on social media and even playing a snippet of it live at All Your Friends Fest, Lights has officially shared her new single, “Damage.” Additionally, Lights recently landed her trademark ethereal voice to PVRIS collab, “The Blob” via Hopeless Records.
On social media, the artist shared that “Damage” may remind some fans of her older work. “This marks the beginning of new music I’m very excited to share with you that I can tell you right now is very Little Machines/early lights coded,” she says. “So here’s to the damaged and the little machines ten year, and the day ones. Get ready.”

Lights sweetly sings, with brutal honesty, “Better post a picture/So you know I’m alive/So you can think about me/I swear this isn’t me/This is the damage talking.”
Directed by the singer and shot by her husband, Blessthefall‘s Beau Bokan, Lights does what many of us do when distressed…and gives herself a major haircut in the “Damage” music video.
In fact, she shared, “I cut off ten years of hair growth for a one-take music video. Hair can hold a lot of memories and trauma and identity. This song is about identifying the parts of us that are a product of our conditioning. And letting them go. (Hair damage included.)”
