KiNG MALA is back with a new track and music video, “hypothetical.” This marks her “final gift from the SPILT MILK era.”

The new video shows scenes from the “dirty dishes” singer on her recent tour across the U.S. Myriad fans are shown sharing their love for KiNG MALA during meet and greets, waiting for the venue doors to open, and beyond. One fan even revealed their own KiNG MALA tattoo. The groovy track is laced with her trademark sultry vocals and bouncy basslines.

“This video warms my heart in a way that I cannot even describe I love u all so much ur so beautiful and I’m so happy I got to capture some of these moments for us,” says KiNG MALA. Check out the new track below.

KiNG MALA shares, “I wrote this song nearly two years ago after reading a sci-fi novel about alternate universes and thinking ‘hmm I bet there are some universes out there where me and [REDACTED] worked out.’ I loved the idea of writing a song about every different reality where we ended up together.”

The artist continues, “I definitely have a knack for falling in love with the fantasy of who someone could be in my life, and this song made me realize that the perfect situation is just as likely as the terrible one… and they are both not my actual reality. It is a cathartic therapy session between me and my imagination.”

In a recent Instagram video, KiNG MALA shared that she has been hiding away for two months. Excitingly, this time away is for writing a new album! She also notes that “hypothetical” is the last song from her “lover girl indie pop girly era.” Needless to say, we are excited about whatever new sonics the artist is exploring on her new record.
