Jayden Seeley Launches Solo Career With Infectious Single “Day Job”

Jayden Seeley, the frontman of beloved pop-punk band With Confidence, has released his debut single “Day Job” today. This officially marks the launch of his solo career and the first track couldn’t be more perfect. “Day Job” is a quirky, catchy, pop-rock driven tune that expands on the sounds from With Confidence’s last album. It’s clear that Seeley has spent the last year truly honing in on his own creative path. “Day Job” is a testament to his individuality and separation from his previous project, all while remaining true to what he does best. It is authentic and fresh.

“Day Job” is a track that doesn’t take itself seriously,” Seeley says of the new track. “On the last With Confidence album I had so much fun writing What You Make It, and Big Cat Judgement Day. Like Day Job, both songs are kind of tongue in cheek, and it reminded me that we shouldn’t always take writing music so seriously. When you have fun doing it, you usually end up with the best result. I think that mentality has carried over into this solo project, and I’m so excited to keep exploring that feeling.”

Jayden Seeley returned to his home with Hopeless Records to deliver his solo music. He announced earlier this year that he had resigned with the label, sending all With Confidence fans into a tizzy. Everyone was excited to see what this new music would sound like and where he would take this new adventure. He began dropping cheeky teasers for “Day Job” on his Instagram and TikTok not too long after. It was obvious the new track would be a banger, and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. Seeley teamed up with The Wrecks on his debut, which tracks in the vocal delivery of the verses. It leans into that attitude-filled, lackluster approach we see from artists like Cake or Jet.

Seeley is no stranger to collaboration. He is passionate about discovering new artists and helping them to find their voice. He personally oversees new artists such as Ryan Oakes and Zach Hood. One of Hood and Seeley’s first collaborations together, “Isabelle,” saw the song receive over 1 million plays in the first weekend and is over 100 million to date. Now, with his debut solo single, “Day Job,” Seeley is at the helm of his whole story and is taking his day one fans, and new ones, along for the journey. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Jayden Seeley!
