Inbox Jukebox Presents: Sub-Radio’s New Song “Talk About L.A.”

This Inbox Jukebox Presents goes out to the one you miss the most. Sub-Radio’s new song “Talk About L.A.” is a smooth and heartfelt letter to the love that pulls you through all the highs and lows, no matter what.

“Every so often Matt and I will collaborate on lyrics, and this was one of those times,” lead vocalist Adam Bradley says. “We wanted a song that spoke to how the pandemic was affecting our relationships and making us reconsider what’s really important.” The song pours out those feelings of a big love in all its messiness and beauty and pain—the kind you’ll never forget. From the get-go you’ll be drawn to its vibe, swaying along to the soft synths and quietly passionate vocals.

“It was fun to get real atmospheric with the production on this track,” guitarist/keyboardist Kyle Cochran adds. “Talk About L.A.” is all silky finger snaps and soft guitars before exploding with intensity in each chorus. “Love how the rain and the saxophone lick at the beginning immediately puts you in the right mood.”

“We wanted a song that spoke to how the pandemic was affecting our relationships and making us reconsider what’s really important.”

When that sax cuts through the melody like a bolt of lightning, you’ll be completely under Sub-Radio’s spell. “I was messing with synth tones and found these really soft keys that created this perfect vibe. And as soon as I heard the vocal I knew we needed a live sax to bring it all together,” guitarist/vocalist Matt Prodanovich says. “It’s a song that makes you stop and listen.”

And you won’t want to stop listening—“Talk About L.A.” is a pure and gorgeous ballad that sounds like it sprang from a classic 80’s film soundtrack yet it still has that fresh twist that Sub-Radio do so well. So give into the feeling and call the one you’re thinking of, singing, “I know it’s not what we had planned / But I still love this thing we made…”
