There’s good news, and there’s bad news for I Prevail fans. The bad news is that lead singer Brian Burkheiser needs a little extra time at home to recover from surgery. The good news is, the rest of the band is still touring in May throughout the Midwest and in the UK and Europe. Eric Vanlerberghe and Dylan Bowman will cover for the frontman.

The band recently released a statement: “Brian recently underwent surgery for a longstanding medical issue in February. The doctors involved were confident this timeframe would allow Brian to recover and perform the upcoming radio shows (Milwaukee/Minneapolis) and European/UK tour, but unfortunately the recovery process has taken longer than initially expected. Brian’s recovery is going well but he’s not ready to take the stage quite yet.”
It continues, “Have no fear however, we are still playing ALL upcoming shows with Eric and Dylan doing double duty on vocals. We poured our heart into this show and promise we will deliver you all a special experience. Brian will be home working hard on his recovery and he looks forward to seeing you all this summer.”
While fans are sad to hear the news, they have shared nothing but support for Burkheiser and his journey to a full recovery. “Dylan has picked up his vocals from him in the past and totally kills it. They will all still be awesome shows,” said one listener on Instagram.
Another Twitter/X user said, “Totally remember the first time I saw you guys, yall had Eric and Dylan do the singing because Brian was out with a sickness. They still ROCKED the show. I’m sure they will again this time! Hope you feel better soon Brian!!”
You can still grab tickets for the upcoming May shows here. Plus, according to the statement, Burkheiser will be on stage when it comes time for the I Prevail and Halestorm co-headlining tour. The co-headliner begins on July 9 in Raleigh, North Carolina, and concludes on August 17 in Las Vegas. Check out the full run below.
