Billie Joe Armstrong Is Awake And Dropped A Green Day Teaser For New Music

Like clockwork, every October 1, Green Day is told it’s time to wake up––they even made a website for fans to know if they’re up. Well, Billie Joe Armstrong heard you loud and clear but decided to hit snooze when the alarm went off this year. Basically, it appears mighty clear that Green Day is teasing a new song based on this new video they shared on Sunday, October 1.

As the clock struck 10:24 AM and an alarm clock blared, viewers can see the singer and guitarist sit straight up in his bed as a rooster crows. He stares at the October calendar, which has a big red circle scribbled on the date of Tuesday, the 24th. (Of course, his calendar also has a skull sketch marking Halloween only one week after this date.) After staring at the calendar, Armstrong decides to go back to bed, covering his face with a comforter. Honestly, this is probably all of us anytime we see that it’s 8 AM, but we can sleep for two more seconds without being late.

In Green Day’s video, we also hear a guitar melody that is likely part of the upcoming track release. “It’s October 1st, WAKE UP,” the Instagram caption says, “now go hit snooze on www.theamericandreamiskillingme.com.”

When fans visit the site, they’re first greeted with the video and can then literally hit a button that says “SNOOZE.” You’ll then be led to a contact sheet where you can fill out your name and address in order to receive a “wake-up call.”

From there, fans will be brought to a page reading “Sweet (American) Dreams.”

Of course, fans are eagerly awaiting whatever news drops on October 24. While some Twitter/X users anticipate a new song, others are manifesting more tour dates. For those heading to When We Were Young Fest in Las Vegas, your dreams will come true. The upcoming October 21-22 WWWYF dates are the only available tour days on Green Day’s website currently. Perhaps fans in Vegas will get to hear a new track(s) before the 24th. Fingers and Doc Martens crossed!
