Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of the 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of American Idiot due out October 25. Green Day has just revealed three more tracks that will appear on the release. The additions include “Shoplifter,” “Boulevard Of Broken Dreams – Live at Irving Plaza, New York, NY 9/21/04,” and “Jesus Of Suburbia – Demo.”
Uniquely, the iconic nine-minute American Idiot hit, “Jesus Of Suburbia,” began as a two-minute-long demo. Check out the demo below.
With the release, Green Day has curated a variety of limited-edition box sets available in eight vinyls and 4 CDs, and each box set also includes two Blu-ray discs. The deluxe collection will also feature 15 unreleased American Idiot demos, 14 songs previously available only as B-Sides and bonus tracks, live tracks from their 2004 Irving Plaza performance, and 9 previously unreleased live recordings.

Of the deluxe release, the band shares on their social platforms, “In the summer of 2004, Green Day entered the studio with Rob Cavallo to create American Idiot, uncertain of what the future held. They were audacious, rebellious, and stressed out by the state of the country at the time. American Idiot was crafted as a response to the daily bombardment of media that spreads it far and wide, making us desensitized and weary -filled with themes that still ring true today, even 20 years later.
They add, “When they made this record, they couldn’t foresee the impact that was to come—23 million copies sold, 6x platinum, multiple GRAMMYs, a Broadway musical, and so much more.
Finally, they note, “The album turns a whole 20 years old this year, and you know they’ve cracked open the vaults for a very special 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition that comes out on October 25th.”
