What better way to kick off a weekend than with new music? Fridays are always chock full of the latest songs and albums ready to be the soundtrack to everyone’s antics, and here you’ll find some of the week’s standout releases. Whether you’re ready to spin an anticipated song from a favorite artist or just taking a look at what’s out there, there’s a whole lot of tunes to dive right into. Who knows—maybe you’ll find your next obsession.
Underoath
Voyeurist
Voyeurist is complex, emotional, and hard-hitting; it’s arguably Underoath’s best album ever. From the opening chords of “Damn Excuses” to the final moments of closer “Pneumonia”, the band recreates that same polarizing feeling they brought along with Define the Great Line and Disambiguation—a listening experience that’s felt as much as it is heard.

Avril Lavigne
“Love It When You Hate Me (feat. Blackbear)”
2022 is Avril Lavigne’s year if she wants it. Her new Travis Barker-assisted album, out in February, sounds like it’s going to include every element that makes a Barker album a Barker album—razor sharp pop-punk jams and, of course, Machine Gun Kelly features. For now, the Blackbear-featured single “Love It When You Hate Me” is a nostalgic and upbeat gem that’ll get you excited for an Avril-filled future.

Against the Current
“Wildfire”
Against the Current unleash their latest banger with “Wildfire”, an enormous pop tune with a gritty chorus begging to be screamed at the top of your lungs. The release also comes with an alternate version that features two verses from guys in the pro League of Legends community.

Set It Off
“Skeleton (Slowed & Reverb)”
Released last October, Set It Off brings “Skeleton” back into the spotlight with a new remix. The “Slowed & Reverb” is exactly just that. The lower tempo and reverbed vocals give the song an entirely new vibe. There’s something about it that just makes it preferable over the original.

Stand Atlantic
“Pity Party”
Stand Atlantic ushered in a new sound late last year with the explosive “Molotov [OK]” but their latest tune is more in line with what we’re used to. Still, “Pity Party” packs a major punch with its bubbly pop-punk tone, showing how versatile the band has become.

Knuckle Puck
“Gasoline”
“Gasoline” is off the new five-track EP from pop-punk outfit Knuckle Puck and they’re dead set on making sure they get better with each release. It’s fast but without being chaotic and the line “just can’t stand the same damn endless routine” hits way too hard.

The Weeknd
Dawn FM (Alternate World)
Dawn FM is still on repeat but The Weeknd is making his ambitious LP even better. The Alternate World version adds remixes of “Take My Breath” and “Sacrifice”, plus his previously-released single with Swedish House Mafia—and it’s probably not the last time this record sees an update like this.

Dan Andriano & the Bygones
“Narcissus, Amateur Classic Narcissist”
With less than a month ’til the debut album from Dan Andriano’s latest project, the Alkaline Trio legend is letting fans in on one more track: “Narcissus, Amateur Classic Narcissist”. Expertly composed, the americana-influenced number makes Andriano’s vocals pop in the best of ways.
