Days To Waste is an artist that focuses on timeless sounds. Bringing nostalgia crashing into the modern day and showing it off to a whole new audience, their intentions are pure scene brilliance. The solo project from Ben Willey, they have been crafting music that revisits the finest corners of scene culture. And with their latest offering, they have stepped into a world that feels as far away as it does just yesterday. Time to pick those top eight friends, learn a bit of coding, and step back into the world of MySpace.
The track in question is called “lilac“. It is as beautiful as its title would suggest. Incorporating soft acoustic chords with poetically romantic lyrics, it’s the sort of song you would find yourself listening to over and over. Putting all their emotion into every word and pushing themselves to new limits, it is a spine-tingling display. It’s proof of what an incredible artist Days To Waste is, conjuring deep feelings with the flick of their wrist.

Ben had this to say about the track.
“I feel like most of my songs in the past play off of a feeling of being lost, with no direction and struggling to understand who I am and where I belong. Well, ‘lilac’ explores the opposite side of that; finally feeling like I understand myself and where I’m supposed to be. Through a love I thought I’d lost I’ve fallen into a place of safety within myself.”
