Carpool Tunnel are a band made for the Summer. Bright, breezy and brimming with heartfelt beauty, they are everything you could ever want from alternative music. So it’s perfect timing that they have announced the details of a brand new album. The new record will be the follow-up to 2021’s Bloom, and is set to feature more of their unique brand of nostalgic, sepia-toned, effortlessly love pop-rock.

It’s going to be called Don’t Let Them Pass You By. It will be released on October 20 via Pure Noise Records. The artwork looks a lot like this:

And the first taste of it is out right now as well. That comes in the form of opening track, “Two Hearts” which is just absolutely gorgeous. A sparkling instrumental that shimmers and shakes with memories of years gone by, intertwined with a beautiful dual vocal that coats the soul in glitter. It’s an amazing introduction to this era, and it’s amazing to have Carpool Tunnel back doing what they do best. A celebration of the freewheeling loveliness of the 60s and 70s as much as the joy in the little things of the modern day, you’re going to love it.

The band had this to say about it:

Two Hearts” is an upbeat, nostalgic song that invokes feelings of excitement and imagery of driving along the California coast with friends on hot summer days. The drums and bass line dance together throughout the song, resembling two hearts beating as one.”
